By car:

During the winter season, you can reach B&B Baita de Eliseo:

  • from Milan: Tangenziale Nord, exit Cinisello; Expressway to Lecco until Colico; SS 38 towards Sondrio, Tirano, Bormio.
  • from Brescia: A4 motorway, exit Brescia Ovest towards Lake Iseo; SS42 to Breno, Edolo; SS39 towards Aprica, Tirano; SS 38 to Bormio.
  • from Bergamo: SS 342 to Cisano Bergamasco (approx. 17km), then SS 639 for 10km to Lecco. Continue on the expressway to Colico, SS 38 to Sondrio, Tirano, Bormio.
  • from Zernez: La Drossa – “Munt la Schera” Tunnel – P.te del Gallo, Livigno; SS301 to Bormio.

IMPORTANT:
During the winter season, the major mountain passes leading to Bormio (Stelvio Pass, Gavia Pass, Forcola Pass, and Mortirolo Pass) remain CLOSED. It is therefore necessary to be careful with GPS directions, as they often do not take these closures into account. We recommend checking: www.bormio.eu/en/mountain-passes/

During the summer season, you can also reach Bormio via the most important Alpine passes:

  • Stelvio Pass: at 2758 meters, accessible from the South Tyrolean side (Prato Stelvio) and from Switzerland (Santa Maria) with the descent towards Bormio (open from June to November).
  • Gavia Pass: at 2651 meters, accessible from Ponte di Legno with the descent towards Santa Caterina Valfurva and then Bormio (open until November).
  • Forcola Pass: at 2315 meters, accessible from St. Moritz or Tirano with the descent towards Livigno and then Bormio (open until November).

For the eco-friendly:

Train
from Milan: take the Milan – Lecco – Sondrio – Tirano railway line (approx. 2 hours and 30 min with Trenitalia www.trenitalia.it).

From St. Moritz in Switzerland, you can reach Tirano with the Rhaetian Railway (the famous Bernina Red Train) and then continue to Bormio by local bus service.

Bus
from Tirano, you can reach Bormio using the local bus service (Schedules and services at www.busperego.com).
Bormio is also served by comfortable “GRAN TURISMO” buses from Milan (via Lecco-Sondrio) and from the Romagna and Ligurian Rivieras.

Bike

You can reach our B&B by following the cycle path. The “Sentiero Valtellina” is a 114 km cycling and walking path that starts from Lake Como (Colico), slowly climbs the valley floor alongside the Adda river, and ends its journey in Alta Valtellina, right in Bormio.
